Angel V. Williams
Angel is the Founder of The Shine Firm, a legacy-building agency that assists professional athletes, entertainers and individuals with philanthropic aspirations and development.
Angel Williams earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University in Political Science and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Florida International University where she graduated with honors and earned the Willie E. Williams Endowment Award for community service. She developed a keen interest in the needs of others at a young age. She has since held various leadership positions with civic groups and community organizations.
Serving as Co-Founder and Executive Director for Davin Joseph’s foundation, Angel was able to foster and grow the organization to incredible heights. Her selfless effort and passion have created opportunities for Tampa Bay area and South Florida area youths that would not have otherwise been possible. As a change agent, she has boosted Davin Joseph’s foundation, and uplifted those around her including a variety of athletes and community partners in Florida, Georgia, California and Missouri.
She proudly serves on the board of several organizations and vows to continue to allow her passion to drive her.
Angel is committed to impacting the community through mentoring and volunteering and holds various roles with the following organizations: FBI Citizen’s Academy, UNCF Leadership Council, Leadership Tampa Bay Alumni, Mayor’s Neighborhood University Alumni.
LaShante Keys is a native Floridian, born and raised in St. Petersburg. LaShante holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), a B.A. in Communications, from the University of South Florida (USF) and a M.S. in Human Services with a concentration in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College.
He has delivered hundreds of trainings throughout the United States since 2000 centered on diversity, team building, organizational development and cultural competency. Clients have included corporations, non-profits, service organizations, government officials, municipalities and universities. His passion has always had a focus on helping others understand each other which is an asset to working with a variety of individuals from different backgrounds.
In addition, LaShante has designed and implemented a variety of programs to assist youth struggling academically. In developing these programs his overall goal is to have participating students demonstrate improved academic achievement and learning gains in core academic subjects (e.g., English/Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science). In addition, he prides himself on the students gaining a sense of self worth and confidence which will help them in life.
LaShante is involved with numerous organizations such as Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. where he is currently the Guide Right Director for the Southern Province which covers Florida, Alabama and The Bahamas, University of South Florida (USF) African-American Advisory Board and Hispanic Leadership Council to name a few.
As a emerging leader within NFBPA-Tampa Bay, he continues to fight for people to have a voice and vision in this society. A quote he lives by in his work is “You are not here to save the world but you are here to start the process.”
He is currently married and has one child. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, roller skating, the outdoors and when he finds the time sleep.
2nd Vice President
Nikki Gaskin-Capehart is the Director of Urban Affairs for the City of St. Petersburg. She focuses on investing in the disenfranchised residents of St. Petersburg through opportunity creation, nurturing neighborhoods and families, connecting through cultural affairs, and being a catalyst for commerce.
Nikki has an extensive background in the private, non-profit, and public sectors. She is a graduate of University of South Florida and several leadership programs. Nikki works with several local mentoring and youth groups to empower children, teens and young adults to reach their full potential. Working on a professional and personal level to impact lives in a way that achieves the City’s vision to be a city of opportunity where the sun shines on all who come to live, work and play.
Special Project Coordinator for Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Services. She has worked in Government for over 16 years. Willette holds a MBA from the University of Phoenix with a minor in Public Administration. She is a Planner who specializes in Birthdays & Weddings for 10 plus years. Willette is an active member of Bible Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace and is the Wedding Coordinator, serving on the Media and Scholarship Committees. In addition, Willette is also active member of the Royal Blue Family-Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., The Crescent Foundation, Tampa Bay Chapter of NFBPA (National Forum for Black Public Administrators), Leadership Hillsborough, Temple Crest Civic Association (TCCA) and hold offices in each, a current member of Hillsborough Backstage Pass (formerly Government Leadership University – GLU), and an Adult Literacy Tutor for Hillsborough County. Other memberships have included ASPA (American Society for Public Administrators), The Tampa Bay Chapter of NBMBAA (National Black MBA Association.).
